Tasmania Invest - Tailored Investment Partnerships
The Examiner Newspaper - Coverage of the May 2016 Launch of Tasmania Invest
Tasmania Invest Directors John Lamb and Sarah Hirst discuss the launch of Tasmania Invest and the need for strategic investment in Tasmania on ABC Country Hour with Rose Grant.
Tasmania Invest – a bespoke consultancy service – has been launched today to focus on attracting local, interstate and international investment to create jobs, employ locals and generate new economic opportunities in Tasmania.
Tasmania Invest Directors will work solely for investors to aggregate tailored investment packages across a wide range of sectors, including agriculture, tourism, mining, education, aquaculture, horticulture, transport and more.
The unique business consultancy will offer a number of services to investors, including:
-locating individual and aggregated properties and businesses, many of which may not be listed publicly on the market, for sophisticated investors;
-introductions to State and Federal Government leaders and assistance with financial grant applications; and
-post settlement consultancy services to add further value to the investment, such as the construction of luxury accommodation units on vineyards or building a robotic dairy to service an aggregation of dairy farms.
The two directors of Tasmania Invest Pty Ltd – business leader in the mining, construction, forestry and transport sectors John Lamb and former journalist, PR manager and multi-award-winning business owner Sarah Hirst – believe there has never been a better time to invest in Tasmania.
“There is record global interest currently in Tasmania as a place to invest, live and work,” Mrs Hirst said.
“Our clean and green environment, our rich, productive soils and quality of life offer endless opportunities for people around Tasmania, the mainland and overseas to add investment value to our industries, whether it’s a vegetable processing factory, an export abattoir, a luxury health spa or farm stay accommodation,” Mr Lamb added.
Tasmanian Treasurer, the Hon. Peter Gutwein, said it is “important that companies like Tasmania Invest can help build on these opportunities and encourage investment in our State”.
“Our economy is growing, business confidence is amongst the highest in the nation, exports are increasing dramatically, the Government is investing massively in infrastructure, and vital sectors like retail, building and construction and tourism and hospitality are booming.
“Clearly, Tasmania has what the world wants.”
“We will be offering a single private-sector point-of-contact for investment in Tasmania,” Mr Lamb said.
“By developing long-term and strategic relationships with investors, we will be able to deliver true regional economic benefits to Tasmania.”
