Sarah Hirst - Director
Sarah grew up on a farm in northern Tasmania before embarking on her journalism career at the Launceston Examiner, the Weekly Times in Melbourne and the Herald Sun in Canberra’s Federal Press Gallery. Sarah also worked in public relations and event management in London, managed Public Relations for the National Farmers’ Federation, was CEO of the Wine Industry Association of WA and Brand Manager for Gunns Limited.
With her husband Mark, she now owns and manages the multi-award-winning Leaning Church Vineyard and Lilydale Larder in Tasmania’s North East, is the former Chair of the North East Rail Trail Board, was an inaugural Board Member of Tourism Northern Tasmania and is a recent graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors’ Course.
Sarah has facilitated Economic Development summits, delivered keynote addresses at multiple conferences around Australia, delivered business consultancy services to small business, was named a Telstra Businesswomen’s Award finalist and is passionate about regional development and diversity.
John Lamb - Chairman
John is an experienced Tasmanian business leader in the mining, construction, forestry and transport sectors. His career of 25 years includes Chief Executive roles for Shaw Contracting, one of Tasmania's foremost civil contractors; and respected transport and logistics company Lloyds North.
John has built and managed mining operations throughout Australia and has served as a director on the boards of industry bodies, regional land management councils, a large pastoral company and several small businesses. He has consulted widely in the fields of business improvement, risk management and strategic planning.
A qualified surveyor, he also holds degrees in management and business and is a Chartered Professional Member of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy. John has been involved with business and investment in Tasmania for many years, including the inaugural TasInvest forum that coincided with the visit to Tasmania of Chinese president Xi Jinping in 2014.
Robert Harrison - Director
Robert is a non-practising Valuer who has extensive experience in both valuation and the Real Estate field.
Robert is a registered Real Estate Agent, was a founding director of Harrison Humphreys Pty Ltd and became an Associate of the Real Estate Institute in 1984.
He is a past Northern Branch President and a former Director of the Board of the Real Estate Institute of Tasmania.
